This is part of our sister parish outreach. Over 100 families receive Christmas gifts provided by donor families. For some, these will be the only they receive.

The semiannual blood drive helps keep a supply of blood available for members of this parish and their families in times of need.

Helping people help themselves in Tijuana by providing them with a permanent house and educational assistance.
- Helping Hands
Helping Hands is a group of parishioners that reach out to other members of our parish family that are in need. They are Christ’s hands reaching out to others.
- Meals for the Homeless
As stewards our thoughts must turn to those who do not have the essentials of life. Please join us to help serve a meal once a month at St. Vincent de Paul Kitchen for the homeless.
- Respect for Life
Working together with the Diocese of San Diego's Office of Social Ministry and other respect life organizations our parish strives to promote the dignity and sanctity of human life from womb to tomb.
- Sister Parish Outreach
Through this ministry, stewards provide non-perishable food items to Our Lady of Angels pantry so that the working poor may supplement needs.

Mission and Purpose
As part of our sister parish outreach program, the Adopt-A-Family ministry provides Christmas presents to needy families from Our Lady of Angels parish each Christmas. Our goals are to share some of our many blessings and build a relationship with our sister parish.
Meetings
Meetings are as needed during the Advent season in preparation for the Adopt-A-Family weekend. The preparation activities include request for donated gifts and distribution of recipient families names, collection and organization of the gifts and the delivery of the gifts to our sister parish.
Blood Drive

The semiannual blood drive helps keep a supply of blood available for members of this parish and their families in times of need.
Mission and Purpose
Saint Gregory the Great parish participates in a semiannual blood drive. The first is in the spring, usually in June and one in the fall, usually in November.
These blood drives help meet the increasing demands for blood and help save many lives. Our blood drives help save between 160 to 200 lives each year.
Who Can Donate?
Basic Requirements:
- Be in generally good health and feeling well
- Be 17 years of age -there is no upper limit
- Weigh at least 110 pounds
- There may be additional requirements
Each donor is given a thorough screening for their personal safety and the integrity of the blood supply.
When to Donate?
An announcement after the Sunday masses a few weeks before the blood drive will be made. At that time you can schedule an appointment at your convenience. The Bloodmobile will be in our parish parking lot on the scheduled Sunday morning.
Build a Miracle - Mexico Home Building

Helping people help themselves in Tijuana by providing them with a permanent house and educational assistance.
Mission and Purpose
Build A Miracle is a non-profit ministry that provides a beautiful two-bedroom home and educational assistance to families in Tijuana. Several homes each year are built as funds from donations are collected. Many of these families have only known very poor living conditions all their lives. With a willingness to help themselves, each family works side by side with volunteers from our community to establish a better life for themselves.
Meetings
Time: 8 to 10 Sundays per year
Where: Tijuana
Skills Needed
Specific building skills are welcomed but not required. It's a great opportunity to work together as a family; this is a kid friendly ministry.

Helping Hands is a group of parishioners that reach out to other members of our parish family that are in need. They are Christ’s hands reaching out to others.
Mission and Purpose
Helping Hands is a team of parishioners ready to assist members of our parish family who are elderly or ill and in need of transportation to Mass, medical appointments, or grocery shopping. If meal preparation is needed due to a hardship, an attempt will be made to assist. When a request comes to the parish the ministry facilitator contacts (email or telephone) ministry stewards for help.
Skills Needed
The only skills required are the time and energy needed to help the person in need and a transportation vehicle.

Mission and Purpose
- Jesus said to his disciples, “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me... Whatever you did for one of these least of mine, you did it for me”. Mt. 25: 35 & 40
- Each month on the first Saturday 15-20 members of Saint Gregory the Great Parish meet here at the parish and carpool to St. Vincent de Paul Village in downtown San Diego to serve lunch to the homeless. Once at the kitchen, a full time staff member assigns jobs and tasks to prepare and serve lunch and then clean up.
- There is no greater way to respond to God's love than to care for the needs of others. Please join us!
Respect for Life

The Respect Life ministry promotes the dignity and sanctity of human life from conception to natural death through education, fund raising and advocacy. It is the responsibility of the Ministry to foster the education of the parish and to encourage, promote and coordinate their activities regarding life issues.

Time: Sundays, 12:15 pm
Where: Trinity Room or Parish Hall
Skills Needed
Be willing to assist in the organization and/or participate in the Respect Life activities organized within the parish and local area.

We who have much, much is expected. Even when we share the little that we have, much is given in return. Through this ministry, stewards provide non-perishable food items to Our Lady of Angels pantry so that the working poor may supplement needs.
Mission and Purpose
Sister Parish Outreach Ministry provides non-perishable food items and clothing for the Our Lady of Angels pantry for distribution to people in need. Parishioners may drop off food items at the parish office or each Sunday morning in the Outreach truck.
Meetings
First Thursday, every other month, in the parish hall at 7:00 p.m.
