Daily Readings, Daily Meditation, & Saint of the Day
“If one of your brethren becomes poor and falls into poverty among you, then you shall help him, like a stranger or a sojourner, that he may live with you.”
Saint Gregory the Great maintains a continuous food drive that provides non-perishable food items, donated by parishioners, to our sister parish; Our Lady of Angels. Food donations are collected before and after all Masses. These essentials bless the lives of these families and provide security in their need.
When shopping for your family, please add a few items for our sister parish. Our shelves are low and the need is high. Needed items include canned meat/fish, peanut butter, canned fruits and vegetables, pasta, pasta sauce, soup, cereals, rice and beans, ramen packages. Anything non-perishable is welcome.
Donations can be dropped off at all Masses, either in the truck parked in front of the welcoming plaza or just inside the main entrance of the church.
Thank you for your generosity and help.
To all of our parishioners who contribute food to our sister parish, Our Lady of Angels, THANK YOU!!! If you haven’t been donating, please consider donating food on a weekly basis. One item per family, per week, would be such a blessing. This cupboard serves the entire Sherman Heights community, located just east of downtown. Assistance is given to anyone who needs help in feeding themselves and their families; including many senior parishioners on limited incomes, homeless veterans, non-veterans, and young immigrant families. Saint Gregory the Great is the only church or agency that consistently and regularly supplies food for Our Lady of Angels cupboard. We are also looking for people to help load and unload the donated items.
Monetary donations are welcome as well. Please send cash, checks, and gift cards in care of the Parish Office, made out to Saint Gregory the Great, and reference "Our Lady of Angels" in the memo section.
Non-Perishable Items (in sealed, unopened packages please)
