Daily Readings, Daily Meditation, & Saint of the Day
Hello Everyone,In this time of great uncertainty and many unknowns, we want you to know that we here at St. Gregory the Great are here for you and want to support your families in whatever way we are able.Though the need for social distancing due to COVID-19 has cancelled faith formation classes, it has not eliminated your children's need for faith formation. Our mission has always been to assist families in the faith formation of their children, and these times are no different. The St. Gregory the Great Faith Formation team has discussed this topic, and we believe that this quarantine can bring with it a great blessing.Your children have gained a lot of free time, but at the same time, they have been thrown into isolation. They will be pushed to find something to fill this hole, and it is our hope that they will be able to fill that hole with God and with family.Over the next few weeks, we will continue to send lesson plans to our catechists as usual. Many of you may have already received some resources from your child(ren)'s catechist. We will also have families resources and ideas to lead lessons, meditations, Bible studies, and other family activities designed to grow the whole family in faith together added to our parish website under the Faith Formation tab. It should be noted that these resources offered are not mandatory, nor will absences we counted for the remainder of the year.If you have a child enrolled in Sacrament Preparation, please keep an eye out for an additional email. You and your family are in our prayers during this time of challenge. The Faith Formation Team of St. Gregory the Great

Much like how in Church, we have different decor to help indicate which liturgical season we are celebrating (a wreath and purple cloth for Advent, green for Ordinary time, and white and lilies for Easter), you too can model this within the home.
At home, if you do not already have a prayer space, you can make one pretty easily with household objects.
Video resources that are fun and engaging for children can be found on Formed.org. Here are couple that we have found to be excellent. Don't have Formed.org? Sign up for free using our St. Gregory the Great parish code. Directions can be found by clicking here.

"Though the mountains fall away and the hills be shaken, My love shall never fall away from you nor my covenant of peace be shaken, says the LORD, who has mercy on you." "All your children shall be taught by the LORD; great shall be the peace of your children."
Isaiah 54: 10,13
During the summer months when Faith Formation is not in session, Children’s Liturgy of the Word is offered for children ages 3-10. No registration is required. Children are called forth during the 9:00am and 11:00am Masses after the opening prayers. The children are led to the parish hall for age-appropriate readings and activities. They are then returned to their parents after the homily.
Bring children to Mass; they will be called up during the liturgy and escorted to the hall.
Please encourage your little ones to join us!
