Holy land pilgrimage
"Many peoples shall come and say: “Come, let us go up to the LORD’s mountain, to the house of the God of Jacob, that he may instruct us in his ways, and we may walk in his paths.” For from Zion shall go forth instruction, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem."
October 11-25, 2018
Saint Gregory the Great is taking a trip to the Holy Land! We will be taking off October 11, 2018 for 2 weeks to visit Petra, Nazareth, Bethlehem, Masada, Jerusalem and more! We will take a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, swim in the Dead Sea, attend Mass in the local churches, ride horses in the desert to Petra (one of the New Seven Wonders of the World), sleep steps away from the Nativity Church, walk and pray the Via Dolorosa, and even have some free time to shop the markets in Jerusalem and Bethlehem for olive wood Christmas presents for your families.
This trip will not only be a spiritual pilgrimage, but it will also be a cultural immersion trip. You will have the chance to visit with local Palestinian Christians to better understand their needs from us as brothers and sisters in Christ. You'll learn about the conflict in the Middle East and will have many meetings leading up to October to help you prepare intellectually and spiritually for your trip. Your faith will come alive and the people you meet on your trip will inspire you to come home and become an active peacemaker in your families, and communities, and in the world.
The trip is open to anyone high school age and older. High schoolers must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. There are limited spots open! If you are interested in receiving more information, please reach out to Katherine Cavallo.
