Daily Readings, Daily Meditation, & Saint of the Day
"Jesus said to them, 'Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day'."
John 6: 53-54
The Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist assist at Mass by distributing Holy Communion along with the presiding clergy. They are to help our Eucharistic Liturgy truly be a work of the people; dedicated men and women who come forward to help and stand as an outward sign of our baptismal calling to serve. Extraordinary Ministers should be registered parishioners of Saint Gregory the Great, have received the Sacrament of Confirmation and be living a sacramental life in good standing with the Church. These dedicated stewards share in an active prayer life and are well-immersed in the parish.
Are you interested in Becoming an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist?
We welcome any parishioner who would like to join our Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist team to attend a 90 minute practical training session on Sunday, October 13 starting at 1:30pm in the church. There is a definite need for additional EMs at all Masses, so if you'd like to know more about this important ministry and how we serve the parish each and every day, please join us for this informational training session.
Training Date: October 13, 2019, 1:30-3:00pm
If interested, please contact Greg Tom at 858-271-9490 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
