"In a world where there is so much wealth, so many resources to feed everyone, it is unfathomable that there are so many hungry children, that there are so many children without an education, so many poor persons."
The Sister Parish Outreach Ministry provides for the struggling families of our sister parish, Our Lady of Angels, in the following ways:
This ministry offers a very tangible way to share our joy and gratitude for our many blessings.
Dear St. Gregory the Great Parishioners,
The Sister Parish Outreach Ministry would like to thank all of you for your continued generosity in support of our sister parish, Our Lady of Angels (OLA). This fiscal year, with your donations, we were able to provide for needy OLA families and homeless in the neighborhood of Our Lady of Angels in the following ways:
Recently we presented a $5,000 check to Noel Bishop, principal at Our Lady's School. This money will be used for scholarships for deserving students whose families are parishioners at Our Lady of Angels. We were able to provide the largest amount ever, thanks to our very successful Rummage Sale in February. Noel was so grateful and will provide us with information regarding its dispersement. For our new members - we look forward to sharing the blessings we all receive when helping this needy and quite beautiful parish.
On another note, Taunya Conte organized a 2 week food drive at St. Gregory the Great's School. Steve and I delivered the donations from last week and Char will be getting them for this week. Added to the delivery Eddie made, our shelves are looking better!
Grocery Outlet (Poway) has agreed to let us be the recipients of their July food drive. More details will follow when I have them, but the owner is hoping to get some of us down there to man a table on the first weekend of the food drive.
We are also very grateful to the parishioners who donated items, volunteered and shopped! The families and staff at Our Lady of Angels are so very thankful and we want you all to know how much you are appreciated!
Meetings are held in the Trinity Room unless otherwise noted

Lord, we pray that as a Church, you strike in our hearts the desire to help the needy. Help us to recognize that hunger affects not nameless, faceless people, but other human beings: people with families, hopes, and dreams for a better future. Allow us to work hard to bring about positive change in the lives of these people. Amen
