Daily Readings, Daily Meditation, & Saint of the Day
“If one of your brethren becomes poor and falls into poverty among you, then you shall help him, like a stranger or a sojourner, that he may live with you.”
Saint Gregory the Great maintains a continuous food drive that provides non-perishable food items, donated by parishioners, to Catholic Charities San Diego. Food donations are collected and these essentials bless the lives of others and provide security in their need.
When shopping for your family, please consider adding a few items for our collection. Desired items include; canned meat/fish, peanut butter, canned fruits and vegetables, pasta, pasta sauce, soup, cereals, rice and beans, or ramen packages. Anything non-perishable is welcome.
Donations may be dropped off per the instructions below. Thank you for your generosity and help.
We have missed greeting you on Sundays at the STGG Food Share truck, and we have missed sharing your generous contributions with Catholic Charities. Starting immediately, we will again collect food for Catholic Charities while observing appropriate COVID-19 safety measures.
We ask that you drop off your donations inside the church doors between 10:00am and 2:00pm Monday through Friday. Please wear a mask and remember to maintain social distance. The church is open during those hours for devotion and prayer.
So please visit the church and drop off your donations to help Catholic Charities as they assist the needy in our community / diocese. We will deliver them to Catholic Charities on a regular basis. Items that are especially helpful include:
