“If one of your brethren becomes poor and falls into poverty among you, then you shall help him, like a stranger or a sojourner, that he may live with you.”
Leviticus 25:35

Saint Gregory the Great maintains a continuous food drive that provides non-perishable food items, donated by parishioners, to Catholic Charities San Diego. Food donations are collected before and after all Masses. These essentials bless the lives of others and provide security in their need.

When shopping for your family, please consider adding a few items to our collection. Desired items include; canned meat/fish, peanut butter, canned fruits and vegetables, pasta, pasta sauce, soup, cereals, rice and beans, or ramen packages. Anything non-perishable is welcome.

Donations may be dropped off during all Masses, either in the truck parked in front of the gathering plaza or the ministry center.

Thank you for your generosity and help.

Weekly Food Drive Update

Thank you to all who contribute food and other essentials to our weekly food drive. The food and other items collected are taken to Catholic Charities every Monday morning. They are most grateful for the faithful support of our parish for feeding the less fortunate. Catholic Charities operates a number of food distribution centers that help the needy throughout the diocese. We thank you for your faithful efforts to assist our neighbors in the San Diego community! We hope that having the collection vehicle right out in front of the church each Sunday makes it easy for you to participate whenever you are able.

We are of course grateful for all of your donations of non-perishable food and supplies. Catholic Charities has identified the following items as being particularly helpful for the families they help at their food distribution centers:

  • Canned food (meats, fruit, vegetables, etc)
  • Canned meals (spaghetti, ravioli, chili, soup, etc.)
